We interview Fyasko’s longstanding skater Bruno Vega as he shares some insight along with some photos and a new video! Enjoy.
Who or what inspired you to start skating?
My homie Brian from the neighborhood had a skateboard one day when we were hanging out and I ask him if i can ride it since I didn’t know anything about skateboarding at all. It was a life changer from then on cause i haven’t been the same since. Right place, right time i guess cause from then on it became a growing passion. thanks Brian!

Tell me about your first board, do you have a picture of it?
wow! it was a Nash board complete from wal-mart cause I was cheap and a poser. I only had that for a week until it got run over by a car while attempting a kickflip down the street from my house. They looked at me after they ran over it and just drove away before I could say a word and react. Probably the best thing to happen to me cause from then on I got nothing but real, authentic and legit skateboards. No picture of that board, the pain is still there.

What’s your inspiration for skating?
Skateboarding for me is a total release and a whole other experience in itself. It takes me away from anything else and it is just me and my friends JUST skating out in the streets. Not worried about getting kicked out, money, life, problems, work, just escaping everything in general and having fun. That is the main inspiration…FUN.

What do you like most about it? Favorite trick? Favorite spot?
Fun skating with the homies, keep meeting great new people, getting tricks, traveling around and getting into some deep trouble. Ollie. My favorite spot is the next one.

What’s your gnarliest scar and how did you get it? Any broken bones?
Haven’t got any gnarly scars just regular bumps and bruises that get tattooed on my body for life. Regular boo boos. I have broken my right four toes while trying to attempt to ollie off a storage bin at my high school. My homie Chucky got it on tape but i have only seen it once. I deem it the golden tape.

Tell me something else you do for fun besides skating:
I slave away working at a Mercedes-Benz dealership in Newport Beach, CA to make ends meet. When I’m clocked out I stay a few days with some fellow homies from work at their lavishing home to drown the stress away till the next day. Eat, chill, play, laugh. Finally when I get home I spend some great quality time with my girlfriend Lucy going out getting into random, silly, interesting situations and adventures from the mountains to the ocean to wherever. I always end up hanging out with my close friends i’ve skated with since day one. More than friends…we are REAL brothers. Helped each other through tough times. We all crash a party, make a party, beer pong it up, laugh out loud to keep us young, and constantly staying active doing something outrageous. Keyword fun.
